My name is Grace Nicholson. I’m 23 from the Quantock hills, Somerset. I have two young Quantock pony’s who are fantastic to work with. I previously had a mare who was so terrified of having her feet trimmed. I was the only person she allowed to trim her feet so I originally did the 3 day workshop and it has turned into a career and I am absolutely loving it!

Over twelve years ago, my barefoot journey began with my Friesian mare Trynke. It all started with a frustrating series of misdiagnosed lameness issues, despite seeking help from renowned veterinary professionals. Feeling let down by the traditional equine world, I became determined to find a better way to keep my horses happy, healthy, and sound. This quest led me to question long-held beliefs and management systems that surrounded me.
In my pursuit of improvement, I stumbled upon paddock paradise and track systems. I discovered the significance of providing horses with a more species-specific environment, allowing them to express their natural behaviours. I delved into extensive reading and research, which eventually led me to Hoofing Marvellous. It was there that I attended one of their three-day workshops for horse owners—a truly life-changing experience filled with countless light bulb moments.
Finally, I had found my tribe, a community that shared my ethos and ideals. When I learned about the HMB PRO two-year training course, I knew I had to transform my passion into my profession. My goal was not only to improve the lives of my own herd but also to make a positive impact on horses and their owners everywhere.
Now, my herd of seven horses happily resides on a track system—a tightly bonded mixed group of both mares and geldings including: three Spaniards, a spotty, two Welsh widgets, and, of course, my beloved Friesian mare Trynke, who has remained healthy and sound, since embarking on our barefoot journey, a testament to the success of our chosen path.
I cover Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding counties

As a qualified Horsemanship Trainer, Equine Learning Facilitator and Leadership Coach, I am involved with horses that support different projects - such as riding for the disabled, counselling, and leadership coaching. Becoming a certified Horse and Hoof Care Pro provides me with the skills to begin a new project centred around rehabilitating horses (laminitis, navicular...) and horses that have been retired from the racetrack. This will be achieved by providing a natural environment of health where humans and horses can self-heal and transform their lives.

I live in Ammanford, West Wales, where I keep two horses, an Irish draft cross and an Appaloosa. I've kept horses for 18 years, 15 of which they have been barefoot. I decided barefoot was best after learning of the health benefits for barefoot v shod horses. I am also very interested in clicker training and positive re-enforcement.
I can cover 30 mile radius which includes Carmarthen, Swansea, Llanelli and everywhere in-between.
